Harry Potter starlet Emma Watson tells the states the truth about why she cut her hair and how she all the same uses the Tube.
Emma Watson still laughs at the media hoopla which revolved around her pixie cutting this fall. The snip wasn't a fashion statement, more than a reflection on the fact that, until now, the Harry Potter producers wouldn't permit her to cut her long locks while playing the schoolgirl function which catapulted her to global fame.
'I didn't get to experiment with dyeing and chopping off my pilus like nearly teenagers,' she muses. 'I also felt, correct, I'm 20, I'k non a petty girl any more than. I'd been on Harry Potter for ten years so I needed to mark the end of it in some way. I needed a desperate modify and that'southward what the crop was all nearly.'
Despite the 'do, Watson withal looks like a schoolgirl, albeit a rather chic 1. Afterward all, she is this month's Faddy's cover girl, a role ordinarily occupied by the likes of Kate Moss and Lara Stone .

The extra admits she's overwhelmed by her financial success. 'I have way as well much money to know what to exercise with,' she exclaims. 'I bought a laptop and a Toyota Prius when I passed my driving test but that'south the most expensive things I've spent my coin on outside of my education. Why would someone my age need this much money?'
Watson has a passion and a natural flair for way, making headlines on forepart rows around the world. She admits she feels pressure to look stylish merely doesn't have a stylist. 'I merely dress for me,' she says. 'Fashion is something I genuinely enjoy. It'southward a way of expressing yourself. Information technology's a lot of fun and I hope it'due south non going to get to a phase where I feel: "Argh, apparel – how stressful!" It's become a style of life and I'm meeting amazing new creative designers all the time.'
As the face of Burberry, Emma has turned her fashion savvy into a second career by joining forces on a vesture line with designer Alberta Ferretti and with fair-trade clothing company People Tree. 'I'thousand very hands-on,' she says. 'I've picked out the fabrics and terminal year I visited garment factories in Bangladesh. Everything is handmade.' A new collection is due adjacent summer.
Who are her favourite designers? 'It depends what it's for,' she says. 'For a premiere, I'll wear some forward-thinking, trend-setting designers like Balenciaga or the latest from Chanel. I'm really into William Tempest. If I'k going casual, I'll mix vintage with clothes from TopShop, Zara or Gap. Agnes B is also a favourite. I'll mix and match, which makes information technology financially accessible to everyone.'
Watson doesn't walk around with bodyguards and still takes the Tube. 'The funny thing is people look at me and go: "Is that the girl from Harry Potter?" And then they shake their heads and say: "No, it can't exist, she's on public transport." And I'yard sat in that location secretly thinking: "Ha, ha, that'south funny!"'
